Try this cloud-based audit tool to generate QAPI reports, help with pre-claim reviews and more
A company providing clinical chart auditing software is making its cloud-based chart auditing tool available to home health and hospice agencies free of charge for the second quarter of 2020.
"This is our Covid-19 contribution," said Randy Weisheit, co-founder of the group which developed PIChart Audit.
"We're offering unlimited audits per account, real person support, and most of all our sincerest wish to make something a little easier during a difficult time."
The easy-to-use chart audit tool mines agency data to help track progress, identify risks and shore up compliance.
It helps agencies determine whether all the elements of a Plan of Care are in place, and if not, what's missing and how often? Which clinicians are missing the required elements and may need some additional training?
"An agency can easily track its compliance with this tool," said J'non Griffin, owner and president of Home Health Solutions, a nationwide consulting and outsourcing firm for home health, hospice and long term care.
The tool was developed under her guidance and has been field tested under daily use by auditors who work for her company.
It has been particularly valuable in helping agencies meet documentation requirements for pre-claim reviews under the Review Choice Demonstration, J'non said.
It can also help agencies implement an effective Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) mandated by Medicare's Conditions of Participation.
"QAPI reports are easy to generate using PIChart Audit," she said. "Trends become easier to identify, weaknesses stand out and are easier to target with remedial action, and agencies have immediate access to the data they must have for compliance."
Agencies taking advantage of no-cost usage in the second quarter will have full access to four templates -- two for QAPI auditing and two for pre-claim review auditing. Full functionality will be offered.
